(BroadwayWorld) – Fans of Disney’s *Frozen* have a new reason to celebrate, as seasoned Broadway performer John Tartaglia will be stepping into the iconic role of Oaken in The Muny’s upcoming production, set to premiere on June 21, 2025. Tartaglia’s appearance comes as a last-minute replacement for the previously announced actor.
The Muny, St. Louis’ beloved outdoor theatre, made the announcement on Tuesday, July 8th, confirming that Tartaglia, known for his impressive work on Broadway and in Disney productions, will be bringing his considerable experience to the beloved musical.
“We are thrilled to welcome John Tartaglia to The Muny as Oaken,” said The Muny’s Executive Director, Michael Simon. “John is a truly exceptional talent, and we know audiences will fall in love with his performance. We are so grateful for his willingness to join our team at such short notice.”
Tartaglia’s impressive resume includes extensive work with Disney, having originated the role of Johnny in *Mary Poppins Returns* on Broadway. He has also performed in *Beauty and the Beast* and *The Lion King*. His experience portraying gruff, yet ultimately good-hearted characters, makes him a perfect fit for the role of Oaken, Anna’s resourceful father.
