The horror fans have been waiting for, and it’s finally here! The official trailer for *Scream 7* has dropped, revealing Neve Campbell’s return as Sidney Prescott, promising a particularly bloody and intense installment in the iconic slasher franchise.
The trailer, released on Thursday, October 30, 2025, showcases Sidney’s family becoming the next target of Ghostface, with her daughter, Tatum (Isabel May), and her dad, Mark (Joel McHale), alongside Gale (Courteney Cox), joining the fight against the masked killer.
Alongside Campbell, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown reprise their roles, while *Scream* veterans Scott Foley, Matthew Lillard, and David Arquette are expected to appear – though their exact roles remain unclear given their characters’ previous deaths within the series.
Rounding out the cast are Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, and Jimmy Tatro. Despite the additions, fans won’t see Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who were the protagonists of the most recent trilogy.
The production wasn’t without its drama. Melissa Barrera was reportedly fired following her comments regarding the conflict between Israel and Palestine, though Spyglass Media Group later denied her dismissal was due to these remarks. Barrera has since addressed the situation, condemning antisemitism and Islamophobia and emphasizing her desire to use her platform to advocate for human rights.
Jenna Ortega’s return as Tara Carpenter is also impossible due to her filming schedule for *Wednesday* season 2. Christopher Landon, initially slated to direct, pulled out, and Kevin Williamson – the franchise’s creator – has stepped in to helm *Scream 7*.
Campbell, 52, who rose to stardom with her role in the *Scream* films from 1996 to 2011, expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m so excited to announce this news!!! Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!!” She praised Kevin Williamson’s involvement, adding, “Kevin is not just an inspiration as an artist but has been a dear friend for many years.”
*Scream 7* is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
