‘Emily in Paris’ Star Ashley Park Narrowly Averts Wardrobe Malfunction

‘Emily in Paris’ star Ashley Park almost experienced a major wardrobe malfunction during an appearance on *The Drew Barrymore Show*. The actress, 34, was promoting the upcoming fifth season of the hit Netflix series when a wardrobe mishap occurred.

Host Drew Barrymore, 50, praised Park’s stylish brown Michael Kors suit, declaring, “This outfit is to die-for!” Park immediately gave credit to her stylist, Brad Goreski, playfully asking, “Should we trade?”

The comedic moment unfolded when Barrymore jokingly took Park up on the offer, removing her jacket. In turn, Park attempted to remove hers, only to exclaim, “Oh my God, it popped open!” Fortunately, the studio audience and viewers at home missed the awkward scene. Barrymore quipped, “By the way, my kinda show,” and swiftly fixed Park’s jacket.

Park is set to reprise her role as Mindy in ‘Emily in Paris’ fifth installment, which drops on December 18th. Earlier this month, she exclusively spoke to *Us Weekly* about Mindy’s evolving character arc and her dynamic with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

“I would say that the show keeps surprising me,” Park told *Us*. “I did not see Mindy’s story lines in season 5 coming. … I feel like I got to be in eight different genres of shows all in one. What else could you ask for? So I never know what to expect.”

The upcoming season will see Emily (Lily Collins) embark on a new chapter in Rome with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) while Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) remains in Paris. Meanwhile, a steamy scene of Mindy with Lucien (Lucien Laviscount) has captivated fans, fueled by the playful dynamic between the two actors.

“What’s fun though is this feels like it came out of left field, but also, Lucien is one of my best friends on the show,” Park revealed. “So we were always laughing about how we love hanging out, but we don’t have scenes together. It made it really fun this year.”

Last month, Park reflected on the show’s impact at the Netflix House Philadelphia VIP Housewarming Party, noting its incredible growth since its premiere in October 2020. “Me and Lily were just talking about that the other day,” she said. “We’ve known each other for half a decade and it’s interesting to step into the shoes of a character where it’s a couple days later but you’ve grown as a person six months to a year [between seasons].”

Park emphasized the show’s global reach and transformative influence on her career, stating, “Emily in Paris ‘has completely changed my life in terms of the pathways and the conversations I get to be a part of. I get to have conversations with people around the world because of Netflix being global. I’m very grateful.’”
