Ann Arbor, MI – Redshirt freshman quarterback Jadyn Davis has formally announced his intention to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, marking a significant development for the University of Michigan’s quarterback room. The news, confirmed by multiple sources, follows a minimal contribution to the Wolverines’ program over two seasons.
Davis, a highly-recruited prospect out of Charlotte’s Providence Day School, arrived in Ann Arbor as a four-star recruit, ranking nationally as the eighth-best quarterback and 106th-overall player in the Class of 2024. However, his time with the Wolverines proved short-lived and unproductive. He appeared in just three games, contributing a total of two passes during mop-up duty.
The emergence of Bryce Underwood, a five-star-plus recruit and the number one overall recruit in the 2025 class, fundamentally altered Davis’s prospects for meaningful playing time. Adding to the challenges, the recent revelations surrounding head coach Sherrone Moore further contributed to Davis’s decision to seek a new opportunity.
“This is a developing story,” reported EssentiallySports.
The move by Davis highlights the intense competition for playing time within Michigan’s football program and the difficult path for highly-rated recruits to secure regular playing opportunities. Further updates on Davis’s transfer destination will be provided as they become available.
