Broadway Alum N’Kenge Sets New Jazz Single and Album Release

New York, NY – Acclaimed Broadway performer and jazz vocalist, Keith N’Kenge, is preparing to release a brand new single and album, marking a significant expansion of his musical horizons. The announcement, made today via BroadwayWorld, signals a deliberate shift for the Tony Award nominee, known primarily for his work on productions like *Hamilton*, *Waitress*, and *Motown*.

The single, titled “Indigo Bloom,” a poignant ballad steeped in classic jazz sensibilities, will be released on August 18th, 2025. It’s being described as “a deeply personal reflection on resilience and hope” by producer David Halleron. Halleron, a veteran of the New York jazz scene, has been instrumental in shaping N’Kenge’s approach to this new artistic venture.

The accompanying album, tentatively titled *Shadow & Light*, is slated for release on September 8th, 2025. The album promises a broader exploration of N’Kenge’s musical talents, incorporating elements of blues, soul and contemporary jazz. The project features a core ensemble of seasoned New York jazz musicians, including trumpeter and composer Julian Phillips and pianist Regina Carter.

“I’ve always been drawn to the improvisational nature of jazz,” stated N’Kenge in a prepared statement. “This album is about finding the beauty in the shadows, but also about embracing the light and sharing a story with all of you. I’m so incredibly grateful for the support of this incredible team, and I can’t wait to share *Shadow & Light* with the world.”

The album’s tracklist is currently under embargo, but Halleron indicated that it will feature original compositions alongside reimagined standards. Pre-orders for *Shadow & Light* are available now on all major digital platforms.

N’Kenge’s move into the jazz realm represents a bold artistic choice, and the industry is keenly watching to see how the talented performer translates his Broadway charisma to this new musical landscape. The release of “Indigo Bloom” will undoubtedly be a key indicator of the album’s direction.
