Baltimore, MD – September 29, 2024 – Following a dramatic 41-40 victory against the Baltimore Ravens, Bills quarterback Josh Allen and head coach Sean McDermott addressed the media, reflecting on the team’s resilience and the pivotal moments of the stunning comeback win.
Allen, who elevated his performance to 4-2 for the season, expressed satisfaction with his teammates’ focus despite the challenging circumstances. “No one on the sideline blinked. Down 15 points, whatever we were, with five, six minutes left. Staying with it… That’s a really good outfit that we just played. And, you know, God willing, we take care of business how we’re supposed to and how we think we will,” he stated. The Bills struggled early against the Ravens’ defense, but ultimately mounted a furious comeback.
Following the win, Allen praised the contributions of newly acquired kicker Matt Prater, who nailed three field goals, including a 43-yarder before halftime, and the game-winning 32-yarder. “Welcome to Buffalo, baby!” Allen greeted Prater after the game. The coach acknowledged the team’s playcalling as “mental gymnastics” and praised the performances of wide receivers Josh Palmer and Keon Coleman. He also emphasized the importance of embracing a growth mindset as the Bills look ahead to Week 2 against the New York Jets.
“That’s the journey of trying to, you know, move a team step-by-step in the right direction. And we have to embrace that growth mindset as we move forward here,” McDermott concluded.
